Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. We do not keep a separate log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be retained so the team can respond and preserve the exchange. It is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page can cause the server to receive routine technical and usage details, including:
- Page-view times and the pages opened
- Device type and operating system
- Your browser and version
- The referring site, when supplied
- The device's IP address
- Approximate time spent on a page
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help combine traffic data, such as which pages receive visits and where sessions end. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Route a search request to the selected partner
- Maintain site speed and availability
- Find and repair technical faults
- Measure which resources visitors use
- Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. King and Queen County material here explains how to reach the sheriff, MPRSC, court clerks, the Virginia Department of State Police, and the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. Visitor data is not compiled into a consumer report or third-party criminal file, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by the provider's privacy policy, including its retention and sharing rules. Review those terms before sending a query because we cannot control the provider's practices.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to court portals, sheriff and state-agency pages, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's own privacy policy controls the visit. Check it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their systems to follow activity across websites for targeted advertising. We do not operate that tracking system.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. It may be available in limited form to:
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- A search partner processing a query you submit
- Advertising networks serving material on the pages
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for collected data. No internet system can guarantee absolute security, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access or a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If such data is identified, a request may be made for its deletion.
Your Data Rights
Applicable privacy and consumer-protection laws may provide added rights based on where a visitor lives. Virginia's Freedom of Information Act request provision concerns public bodies, while Code ยง 19.2-389 limits official criminal-history dissemination. Neither turns this private site into a government records custodian. Subject to applicable law, a visitor can:
- Request deletion of personal data
- Ask what personal information is held
- Seek correction of inaccurate data
- Opt out of eligible forms of processing
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may change. A revision will be posted here and identified by a new effective date, so visitors can review the current data practices.
Effective date: August 10, 2026
